> DESCRIPTION

This unique partnership between the Miami-Dade County District 11 Schools and the Frost Art Museum culminates in an annual exhibition of student art created throughout the year. The project is a collaboration to meet M-DCPS Curriculum Based Competency Goals, the Sunshine State Standards for Arts Education, and state and national School-to-Work Initiatives.

Miami-Dade County Commission Chairman Joe A. Martinez and The Frost Art Museum will host the ninth annual Creative Visions student art exhibition. The exhibition features talented artists from District 11 Miami-Dade County Public and Private Schools (M-DCPS), including elementary, middle and high school students. For the past nine years, hundreds of school-aged children have participated in this unique arts competition.

Creative Visions, an annual juried exhibition held in May at The Frost Art Museum, was conceived in 2004 to highlight the artistic achievement of K-12 children in District 11. It also honors the M-DCPS art teachers who promote the visual arts in our community. Creative Visions continues to show the immense talent of our students - a window into their lives that eloquently expresses how they perceive our world. The exhibition runs through Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
