Guido Montanari, Architect and PhD, "History of Architecture and Urbanism" discussion in relation to exhibition Metropole/Colony: Africa and Italy

Guido Montanari is an associate professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin where he teaches History of Contemporary Architecture and History of the Urban and Territorial Transformations. He has conducted research in the fields of modern and contemporary architecture and city planning in Italy and Europe.

His most recent publication, Architettura e cittá nel Novecento (with Andrea Bruno, Rome 2009), is based on the belief that the history of contemporary architecture continues to be exceedingly centered on the great protagonists of the Modern Movement and their works, and fails to look closely enough into the really significant elements that have shaped the structure of the land and the city.
