tapando el sol con un dedo: places, spaces and ascension is a video project featuring the works of Steffani Jemison (New York), Jamal Cyrus (Houston), Hamlet Lavastida Cordovi (Havana, Cuba) and Glexis Novoa (Holguin, Cuba).

This project focuses on private in public dialogue that alludes to the many facets and politics of urban living spaces. Certain landscapes go through significant transformations through years of removal, re-construction and erasure. This dichotomy of visual remnants is a phenomenon of cultural resistance to the violence of displacement and redevelopment.

william cordova is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Lima, Miami and New York. Cordova is an Alumni from Miami Central High School, Miami, FL and Yale University, New Haven, CT.
