This is one of my latest paintings that I finished in September 2015. The inspiration behind it was for me to branch out and become a different self within reasonable distances from my mind to my brush. 9/14/15 Posted 9/14/15

I am curently engaged in exploring ideas and tools in an abstract format. I love the feel and various levels of subtlety that black chalk or charcoal can make on different surfaces. I also love experimenting with layering different materials on a surface and the richness of textures and complexity that results. A lot of my recent work has been in black and white because I feel that some concepts can be more powerfully expressed if the eye and mind are not distracted by color. When I do use color... [more]

“I’m scared to go back.” We were all squeezed into wooden folding chairs with a crowd standing around the perimeter of the room at Last Projects, on the second floor, where an old air conditioner, inadequately exhaling intermittent wafts of cool air, and a set of heavy Venetian blinds blocked out the sights and sounds of Hollywood Boulevard below. It was nearing 10pm. Their screening was over, and Pink, as she would like to be called, was at the front of the room, standing with her... [more]
