> DESCRIPTION

'Intimate Histories' is the first BigSmall artists' exhibition in the UK and is showcasing the work of 7 Irish and 6 Chinese artists whose work reflects their shared concerns with personal narrative. The work is 2D, 3D (using a wide range of materials) & video and will be exhibited in an 'intimate and domestic' context.

Fion Gunn & Ray Murphy set up BigSmall as a response to the interest and enthusiasm witnessed during their recent Irish/Chinese exhibitions in Beijing.Itis an informal partnership which can respond quickly and flexibly to new ideas and new projects for collaboration between diverse minority communities. Its aim is to provide a framework for new collaborative projects some of which will be initiated by Murphy & Gunn and others which will be led by invited artists. www.bigsmallartists.com
