> DESCRIPTION
‘Double A-Side’ began in 2007 as an exhibition and performance project
concerning identities of visual artists who were also musicians. It
opened simultaneously at ARTIS, the Centre for Fine Art and the
Stedelijk Museum.
Using a crypto-scientific set of criteria (i.e., recording contracts
and records of institutional exhibitions), ‘Double A-Side’ sought to
reflect on the artistic output of those earning the ‘right’ to be both
visual artists and musicians.
‘DOUBE A-SIDE: THE BOOTLEG’, curated by Ken Pratt, transposes the same baseline concept to FRED with reconsidered relationships amongst evolved bodies of work by Rob Churm, Caron Geary, Rufus Ketting & Gyz La Riviere, Kate Mayne, Angie Reed, Janine Rostron, Catriona Shaw, Tai Shani and Martin C. de Waal.
The opening of 'Double A-Side: The Bootleg' will coincide with First Thursday openings, July 2nd, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
