Reinhard Stammer was born in Germany and painting and drawing have always been his passions. At the age of 17 he gave his first exhibition. He is inspired by, amongst others, Pollock, Picasso, Klee, Basquiat and van Gogh.
The paintings that will on display at the SPACE gallery in May are the result, as he himself puts it, of “having walked the rocky road of life”.
Being self taught, Reinhard Stammer was from the very beginning rejected by ‘conservative artists and their associations’. “And that was fortunate”, he says with a smile.
Private view: Saturday 4 May, 7-9PM (entry is free and no ticket is required. Please bring a bottle. All liquid donations will be shared equally amongst guests).
Live music on Opening Night from Matthew Randle. Also showing: 'My London in Flowers' from special guest artist Marina Gruzer (aged 8).
