> DESCRIPTION

I Am Solitary is a counterpart and extension of the 2010 exhibition in Nottingham UK, which featured a selection of international emerging artists whose practice responds to questions of individuality as affected by significant personal change. With this collaboration between Beers.Lambert Contemporary Art and Gift 10 VYNER ST, a selection of artists from the initial exhibition will be displayed alongside a new selection of artists, each of whom challenges the concept of identity through an experimental and progressive approach to their practice. Through their practice, the selected artists push the boundaries and direction of contemporary emergent art, and articulate a passionate and inimitable perspective to questions surrounding identity.

I Am Solitary intends to seek-out and reveal clandestine articulations that become part of a shared dialogue through visual expression. The artists engage with the thematic framework by removing expectancy from a strictly-figurative approach in favor of an exploration of a conceptual and abstract understanding of identity as resulting from change, convales- cence, or catharsis. The artists comment on their relationship to a moment of creation, the solitary or remote instance, or even the dialogue created between the viewer and their work. Above all, this exhibition extracts a collective consciousness as derived from solitary responses to questions of identity.

Vyner street has long been the benchmark of excellence in London's contemporary art community; prominently located at 10 Vyner Street, Gift 10 VYNER ST continues this tradition, featuring emergent and progressive contemporary art.
