MIX is an exhibition of paintings, sculpture, photography and film, made at APT, an arts charity housed in an old industrial building converted into studios, gallery and education suite, on the banks of Deptford Creek.
39 artists have individual studios on the same site as the now well-established and popular APT Gallery, in one of the first of many art complexes to be set up by artists on Creekside, 15 years ago.
Chris Marshall and Mali Morris, who both have studios at APT, selected and installed the show. "We have enjoyed putting together all these different works - 75 in all, - figurative and abstract, small and tall, on the wall and on the floor. The gallery at APT is beautifully high and light, so we were inspired by this when we hung the show. The cluster of many small works at the entrance is contrasted elsewhere with a quieter, airy display, - we tried to give each piece its own space, as well as making it an important part of a dynamic whole. We discovered unexpected links between many of the works, which we hope everyone will enjoy."
