Official exhibition preview with artists performances:
7.30pm Bedwyr Williams - In Dreams
A man spoons out my eyes and puts them to one side. He places two wicks in the sockets and pours in wax. I can't see but I'm sure that he's using me as a living nite-lite - I hope he doesn't leave me near any curtains.
Bedwyr Williams performs a new chapter of his In Dreams performance series, which wittily reflects on how the subconscious reveals so much and so little about us.
8.00pm Mel Brimfield - Art-Breaker: Confessions of a Critic
Sir Francis Spalding has worked extensively with Mel Brimfield in recent months on the development of the seminal 64 part TV series 'This Is Performance Art'. For the preview of Black Hole Hums B Flat, the celebrated raconteur and bon viveur reads from his recently published compilation of selected writings, entitled Art-Breaker: Confessions of a Critic.
8.30pm Juneau Projects - Laptop Hums A
Juneau Projects' performances integrate homemade electronic instruments with custom-made computer software, sound reactive video projections and stage costume. Previous themes have included British woodland animals, defunct public sculpture in Birmingham, the evolution of Radar technology and various owls.
For 'Black Hole Hums B Flat' Juneau Projects will integrate new instruments, visuals and songs creating tantalising melodic digital noise under the banner of 'Laptop Hums A'.
