The ArtSlant Prize Exhibition at Aqua Art Miami 2013 was a resounding success. Many works were sold, and all of the artists' works generated much interest among museum curators, consultants and gallerists. Our booth was deemed a highlight of Aqua by the Miami Herald's Ricardo Mor, in particular the works by Robin Kang.
On Saturday ArtSlant and Koval Distillery hosted the ArtSlant + Aqua After Party, which, despite the intermittent rainfall, was a tremendously fun party and was attended by several prominent gallerists, artists, and writers. The award-winning Koval whiskey was flowing freely and the AudiophilePlus DJs and performers for SoundVision at the Lyons Weir booth kept the music pumping through the coral courtyard. Passersby saw the facade of the Aqua Hotel lit up with the crowd-sourced digital graffiti projections of Digital Trail Space, a project by Branger_Briz and ArtSlant STREET. We received hundreds of the anonymously submitted designs which were also projected throughout Wynwood last Thursday night.
Robin Kang's striking textile work, Core Memory, was awarded the 2013 purchase prize and is now a part of the ArtSlant Collection, joining works by past winners Steven Vasquez Lopez, Jason Irwin, and Robert Minervini.
We'd like to thank Aqua Art Miami and the Art Miami teams, the Aqua Hotel and everyone who made the ArtSlant Prize Exhibition a success this year. And a special thanks to all the members of the ArtSlant Community who stopped by to say "hi"!
