This exhibition showcases exciting ideas from a group of seventeen national and international artists, in a variety of media.
It provides a fresh look into some of the aspects related to the natural world : from superb traditional botanical illustrations by Jess Shepherd, Paintings & etchings by Kit Boyd, several different takes on papercuts from layered cut paper reliefs by Richard Rogan Brown, intricate large lace-like shadow-makers from Pippa Dyrlaga, to Tania Beaumont's papercut monotype prints. Kirsty O'Leary-Leeson brings us her exquisite pencil on gesso drawings, one similar was very well received by the judges on 'Show me the Monet'. Her work has just been selected as an Artslant Round 3 Juried winner - Espacio obviously has good taste ! Kes Samuelson has assembled a 'Natural collection' in a printer's tray , which appears to be an assemblage of natural objects - until you look closely and see that they are in fact all hand painted to resemble the real things. Superb indeed !
