The House of St Barnabas presents Martin Creed and Moshi Moshi Records
Tickets priced at £20
The House of St Barnabas is excited to announce that Martin Creed has created a bespoke newartwork for the second event in the Spring Culture Series- a watercolour portrait of St Barnabas. The artwork will be on display at the event on 17 April, with postcards of the artwork for sale. In addition, this image will form the cover artwork of a limited edition vinyl, to be released by The Vinyl Factory. The vinyl will feature a live recording of Martin Creed’s performance on 17 April, as part of the Spring Culture Series, with 25% of the profits from the sale of the records going directly to the charity, The House of St Barnabas. The cover artwork of the sleeve will be hand-painted in a replication of Creed’s original, and numbered in an edition of 100. Each edition will cost £200. This is the latest in a series of collaborations between Martin Creed and The Vinyl Factory, and like each release before now, it looks set to become a collector’s item.
On the night of his performance and the recording of the record, Creed will introduce an evening of acoustic music with Moshi Moshi Recordsin the chapel of The House of St Barnabas. Creed willperform alongside Sheffield duo Slow Club and Welsh singer Sweet Baboo. Slow Club burst on to the scene in 2009 when Moshi Moshi released their debut album. They are currently preparing to release their third album in 2013. Sweet Baboo is Stephen Black, whose third album was nominated for the inaugural Welsh Music Prize in 2011, and whose next record, Ships, will be released on 22 April on Moshi Moshi Records. Martin Creed’s album Love To You came out in July 2012on Moshi Moshi Records. He is currently working on a new album to be released in early 2014.
