Luis de Horna Ignacio Garcia was born in Salamanca, Spain in August 1942. During his early years he worked alongside the Communist photographer, artist and dissident, Pepe Nunez in the backroom of his printing house and there learned of his own love of art and illustration. He is mainly known as an illustrator of books and is the Recorder at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, he also currently teaches the Didactics of Plastics Expression in the Teacher Training School of Salamanca. In his work Garcia draws on both poetry and surrealism to create his striking paintings and illustrations as he believes he needs to be something of a poet to give his vision this spiritual transcendence. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Spain and abroad. Please visit our website for our full portfolio.
