Description
"Preboarding For The Flight Of Icarus" is one painting in a series of works that deals with the similarities and differences between ideas, memories, stories and lies. It also incorporates and asks questions about the viewer, the viewed and the players and the pretenders.
Drawing influence from such artists as Cindy Sherman, Mark Tansey , Claes Oldenburg, and Jeff Koons these paintings are all collages of self portraiture/ performance art, travel journal, modernizing mythology and an unbridled enthusiasm for the creative imagination. In each painting I've also added a hybrid animal who is given a role in the story line.
This Painting is about the moment before the flight of Icarus and simultaneously a reference to an Iron Maden song "The Flight of Icarus."
