I am currently working on a series of works about Mt Subasio here in Umbria. It rises behind Assisi. It is an austere place snow covered in winter but was the territory of St. Francis (of Assisi) there are milestones, sancturaies and shrines dotted all over it. This painting of is of St Francis depicting him as a mere man in an extreme environment.
