We are pleased to announce the gallery’s official name change from The Company to ANAT EBGI. We look forward to an exciting future under our eponymous new banner!
The Company is a contemporary art gallery based in L.A.'s famed Chinatown. The gallery features solo and group exhibitions, and is intended to be a resource center for artists, curators, and the public.
The Company opened in the fall of 2008 on the groundfloor level of the Moytel apartments on Yale Street, with an adjacent garage for video, installation and performance. In March of 2011 the gallery moved into its current location on Chung King Road; or, in the words of Owner/Curator Anat Ebgi, the "heart-chakra" of Chinatown.
The program consists of emerging and mid-career artists living in the US and abroad. The gallery is not media specific and has exhibited audio works, video, painting, works on paper, photography, performance, installation and sculpture since its opening.
The gallery represents Jen DeNike, David Hendren, Elias Hansen, Jesse Fleming, Alexa Gerrity, Lisi Raskin, Sigrid Sandstrom, and Jay Stuckey. The artists have exhibited and/or are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, PS1/MoMA, Seattle Art Museum, Moderna Mussett, KW Berlin, Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard, MoCA North Miami, and MoCA Los Angeles.
The Company has participated in the NADA Art Fair in Miami Beach, 2010 & 2011, Art Los Angeles Contemporary, 2009 & 2010, and The First Annual Malibu Art Fair, 2009.
