Originally The Conference Room was created out of much disdain for the Curatorial Practices of the Status Quo Institutions that close doors to artists because of lack of resumes, lack of formal education, the need to pigeon hole styles, and the must be classified and general consensus to say it is good before they procure the financial backing to put an artist on the walls, floors or ceilings.
The idea of the conference room is to create a less audible didactic environment where the art does the talking and the viewer can create their own interpretation of what the work is trying to say while at the same time elevating emerging and mid-career artists towards a common goal of all visual mediums.
It began in a 2/F office space in Beverly Hills. Since our humble beginnings we have moved to more familiar waters where one can still be free to express themselves without the worry of status or zip code.
We attempt at blurring the lines between what we call folk art, naive art, urban and pop art allowing the artists to freely create their obsessions and desires.
After visiting The Conference Room we hope that in some way we may have enlightined you and planted a seed of inspiration.
