The mission of the Pico Rivera Centre for the Arts is to provide an opportunity for community members to explore the fine arts through instructional classes, workshops, lectures and gallery exhibitions. We seek to provide an environment, which encourages individuals of all ages and skill levels to nurture and enhance their artistic abilities in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere.
The Pico Rivera Centre for the Arts was built in 1989 and adjoins the city's Senior Center. The site is located directly adjacent to Smith Park and two elementary schools. The space is approximately 1,200-sq. ft. and serves as an exhibition space and site for art classes offered through the Department of Parks & Recreation.
Exhibitions which feature local and southern California artists.
Weekly classes for both adult and children including: painting, drawing and ceramics.
Special events including: Concerts in the Park series and artist receptions.
Lectures, workshops, and discussion groups.
Participation in City-wide events and programs.
Public programs in association with the City of Pico Rivera including Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, Public Art and Beautification, Rio Hondo Symphony Reception, and cultural trips.
