Just days after the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and devastating tsunami hit Japan, the Japanese Tea Bowl Fundraiser was born. The call went out to the ceramic community, and the overwhelming answer was loud and clear. Immediately, local artists jumped at the chance to help by donating fantastic cups, bowls and art ware to be sold.
Currently, over 90 ceramic artists, Los Angeles-based and from around the country are donating their material, time and creativity to the Japan relief effort. Famous and professional ceramic artists are donating work that would normally be found at auction or gallery prices !
