Steve Turner Contemporary was established in 2007 to showcase emerging and established artists from the United States and abroad. In addition to mounting twenty exhibitions annually at its Los Angeles venue, the gallery also participates in international fairs: Art Basel Miami Beach (2008 & 2009); ArtLA (2009 & 2010); and Zona Maco, Mexico City (2007, 2009 & 2010). With its participation at Zona Maco and through its programming in Los Angeles, Steve Turner Contemporary is committed to introducing Mexican artists to American audiences and American artists to Mexican audiences. In addition, the gallery is especially committed to introducing artists from Los Angeles. Wet Paint, the gallery's annual late summer exhibition, features ten young Los Angeles-based artists who are selected from over two hundred artists during the previous twelve months. Through its commitment to diversity, the gallery seeks to introduce new artists to Los Angeles, and through its commitment to the local scene, the gallery aims to nurture the careers of the most talented artists working in Los Angeles.
