Founder Carlos Rivera created his gallery as a space to showcase the work of established, contemporary artists along side promising new talent. In that effort, Carlos joined forces with critically acclaimed Chef Owner John Rivera Sedlar of Rivera Restaurant to combine and complement their interests in art, culture, and creativity. This collaboration celebrates their shared cultural heritage while contributing to the dynamic and ever-growing environment of downtown Los Angeles.
Rivera and Rivera then teamed up with Bryson Strauss of Strauss Fine Art to help further develop the curatorial vision for the gallery. Bryson Strauss is a long-time museum and gallery curator, writer and the founder of the L.A. Art Machine. He has exhibited widely and curated the work of internationally celebrated artists in the U.S. and abroad.
