This exhibition features various organizations promoting activities that involve mutual aid and shared pleasure, the subversion of oppressive structures/routine, and jubilant engagement with public space. Through events, performances, printed material, gifts, video, installation and a grip of other propaganda, the projects in Bulging Joy and the Infinite Potential strive towards an utopic present, igniting politicized pleasure with poetic acts.
As one of the many components of the exhibition, the Santa Claus Fundamentalists for Giving are collecting goods to be shared for an Emergency Stockpile. Those contributing will receive access to the stockpile, which will be located in an easily reachable location in San Pedro. At their discretion, contributers are able to take from the stockpile in times of need and give to it in times of surplus. Also, Making Transit Amazing will provide escort service to the opening of the exhibition. Contact MTAnow@yahoo.com to see if the shuttle is coming through your neighborhood in Los Angeles. For the duration of the show, the various organizations will also conduct projects outside of Project Room G3, afterwards submitting images to be displayed in the space on a digital picture frame; the diverse tactics compiled together illustrate the possibilities of a world spangled with behavioral rebellion and acts of joy.
