> DESCRIPTION
Dirk Hagner's woodblock portraits of historical figures, authors and artists are lasting memorials to the genuis and passion of mankind.  Using techniques both traditional and experimental, these large-scale portraits capture the essence of these influential individuals.

More information about Dirk Hagner, and images of his work can be found at his website, www.dirkhagner.com

Printmaker in Residence: Dirk Hagner is the first in a series of exhibitions highlighting artists in the Center's Printmaking Residency Program.  This program supports printmakers by providing them with 4-6 week working studio residencies in our Print Studio, and supports non-printmakers by providing the assistance of a Master Printer to realize their visions.  Each year the Center aims to sponsor four residencies for printmakers and two residencies for non-printmakers.
