February 20th is the Artist Reception and Screening of the documentary film "Who Does She Think She Is?" directed by the award-winning Pamela Tanner Boll. The film starts at 1pm and will be followed by a discussion and reception with the artists. All are welcome.
The film follows five women artists as they navigate the intersections of mothering and creativity, partnering and independence, economics and art, and invites discussion of the history and current state of women in the arts.
Stick around after the movie for an engaging discussion of the film's implications. Or leave early to go home and paint/dance/write/draw/sing/act/sculpt.
And be sure to visit the Nixon Room at the Whittier Public Library to see the dynamic exhibit of women's art on display.
The library is open:
Mon - Wed: 10am - 9pm
Thurs - Fri: 10am - 6pm
Saturdays: 10am - 5pm
