On February 5th, Paul Chatem will unveil his newest collection of works in this much anticipated, upcoming solo exhibit, "The Death of Bighead", at C.A.V.E. Gallery.
Over the past year, Paul has taken his artwork in an exciting and bold new direction. It began with the idea of incorporating his woodworking skills and interest in antique mechanical toys with his storytelling ability and narrative structure used to create a series of paintings - and has evolved into an adventurous, interactive and unforgettable style.
Paul's ambitious new works are skillfully painted and layered with hand-cut wood gears on custom birch panels that encourage a kinetic interaction with the gallery patron. This exciting show will feature a series of paintings that are inspired by a fictional yet meaningful narrative that celebrates the shedding of older habits and styles, and honors the revolution of originality.
