Harvest Henderson
we
are all in this together is
part of an ongoing series of text projects exploring the way language shapes
reality and community. The words "we are all in this together" were hand-built five times over
from recycled packaging materials during an intimate dinner gathering of
artists orchestrated by Harvest in her home. Each complete phrase is framed
individually. The edition explores the community-building aspects of art
production, exhibition and patronage, as well as the parallel industrial and
environmental cycles of manufacturing and consumption. The exhibit will
culminate in another dinner event hosted by Harvest to connect art makers and
art buyers.
Harvest Henderson graduated from the University of
Minnesota. She has lived and worked in Portland, Oregon since 1999 and was
a regular contributor of arts criticism for The Oregonian for six years. She
works primarily in mixed media and installation; Portland's Willamette Week has
described her work as "conceptual but not arid, thought-provoking but
still satisfying visually and spatially
