Robert Blackburn was a legendary printmaker and artist. Working with artists such as Robert Rauschenburg and Barnett Newman, Blackburn was responsible for some of those artists most celebrated and innovative prints. As an educator and founder of the Printmaking Workshop in New York City, Blackburn shared his talents with artists all over the world. His workshop continues to influence the world of printmaking to this day, serving as an international open print studio and now called the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
Connections; LA Printmaking 1962 to 1973, tracks the friendships, collaborations and events that shaped the Los Angeles art scene in the sixties and made printmaking an essential element in the DNA of art in LA.
