Ugandan Jewish Artist JJ Keki is a leader of the 1000-member Abayudaya Jewish community of Uganda.  He has been acclaimed in Oprah Magazine for his leadership of the "Delicious Peace" interfaith Fair Trade coffee cooperative, and has also been nominated for a Grammy in world music. Mr. Keki will give a multimedia presentation about the economic development programs that are supported by Kulanu, (All of Us), a non-profit organization which supports isolated and emerging Jewish communities around the world. He will also perform traditional Abayudaya music.
This program is co-sponsored by the UCLA Fowler Museum, the UCLA Center for Jewish Studies, the UCLA Herp Albert School of Music, The UCLA Department of World Arts and Cultures, and the UCLA School of Art and Architecture along with student groups Bruins for Israel and Challah for Hunger.
