> DESCRIPTION

Brodsky’s new photographic project, American Veil, explores the issues of body image as impacted by contemporary media as well as L.A.’s enhanced pop culture landscape. Lines blur and boundaries between the real and the ideal disappear. By featuring mannequins as metaphors for contemporary women, the artist hopes to draw attention to the pressure on females to fulfill stereotypes that are formed at an alarmingly young age.
