Ann Hamilton & Joan Simon Ann Hamilton is the recipient
of many honors including the MacArthur Fellowship, National Endowment
for the Arts, Guggenheim and Louis Comfort Tiffany grants, and the
Skowhegan Medal for sculpture. She was the U.S representative at the
1999 Venice Biennale and the 1991 São Paulo Bienal. Her installations
and objects are in the permanent collections of museums worldwide.
Joan
Simon, curator-at-large for the Whitney Museum of American Art, is a
writer, curator, editor, and arts administrator based in Paris who has
worked independently for museums, foundations, and publishers in the
United States and in Europe. A former managing editor of Art in America
(1974–1983), Simon has published extensively on contemporary art.
