Workshop Description:

This is a live painting workshop providing an introduction to the fundamental means of expression of painting. The class is directed toward learning how to think and see and use paint like the masters. This is the same class that is taught by Schaefer at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Working with live models, you will be introduced to the pictorial ideas of line, value, and color. Through a series of color palettes, from monochrome, to limited ‘old master’ palettes, to full chroma ‘post-impressionist’ palettes, you will learn new ways to think about paint and begin to paint what you see.
