This special exchange exhibition was hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Makii Masaru Fine Arts and LA Artcore, and was co-produced with Contemporary Artists Center Japan. The international exchange show culminated with two exhibitions in Tokyo and two in Los Angeles (at both LA Artcore venues) featuring the work of the 22 artists. Watch the video.
The artists in this exhibition came from diverse backgrounds whose careers span in scope from emerging to established, are of different generations, have varying degrees of education and represent a diverse cross-section of aesthetic approaches.
LA Artcore’s exchange show programs such as "Cosscurrent" have served the artists by establishing national and international networks of artists and arts professionals which in turn become a resource for supporting the development of each artist’s careers.
