This installation by artist Hadiya Finley marries sculpture and animation in an exploration of the basic activity of walking.  Five figures are suspended in different phases of the walking cycle. The figures are simplified and stiff (like stick figures) so that the viewer may better analyze their activity. While each sculpture represents one view of the walking cycle, as a group they represent a “line up” as one character follows the other. The sculptures are also accompanied by a short animation which was created using a variety of experimental techniques which look at bipedal activity from various points of view.
