> DESCRIPTION

In gallery two - Nathan Spoor's solo exhibition, "The Glass Menagerie" is a concentrated view into key aspects of an epic expanse of visual drama. This exhibition continues his nearly decade-long examination into the discoveries of a select pair of inquisitive doe-eyed enthusiasts who search to understand the connection of the unfolding universe. A male being knit together by an enigmatic female with the ability to create their shared surroundings as she sleeps or dreams. The female passes through different gauntlets of understanding and evolution as the viewer is invited to witness the beginning of her true inner education.

On the larger stage, this exhibition invites the viewer to celebrate the realizations that transition us from one stage of life to the next. The curious title refers to the artists' reality as well as the painted subject. "Glass Menagerie" is a series of obstacles or challenges in one's path that could easily be confusing, engaging and even overwhelming. Perhaps the statement is broad enough to be a life metaphor, yet the focus lies soundly on fending distraction from our chosen path or intentions.
