> DESCRIPTION

Compass 2007: New Art from the University of California’s MFA Programs examines artwork by 2007 graduates of the eight UC campuses’ MFA programs to survey the contemporary scene and speculate about future developments in art coming out of California. The UC system is known for producing some of the best young artists, and has stood out as a major player on the national art scene due to the roster of significant working artists on its faculties. The Compass 2007 exhibit will give an unprecedented, comprehensive look at the next generation of artists before they hit the national scene.
