Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA)

The collagraph process utilizes collage, intaglio and relief techniques to create a textured plate from objects glued onto a rigid backing.  Once the plate is created, the artist adds ink to the surface and prints it utilizing a press.

In this workshop, printmaker Gabriela Martinez will introduce the collagraph technique and instruct students on making their own unique image.

This workshop is a two-part workshop on June 13 & June 27, 2009. Participants will build their plate in the first session and print their plate during the second session.

Reservations are highly recommended.

All materials are included, though participants are encouraged to bring any object they would like to include on the plate (please, no metal or high-relief objects).
