ART: Each year, new graduates of the CalArts School of Art organize and present an exhibition of their work, taking the initiative on how they wish to introduce themselves to a wider audience. This year's exhibition, FOR EVER, featuring new works by some of the most provocative young artists in the United States, is held in an industrial building in downtown Los Angeles. For the past three years, CalArts graduates have also participated in Supersonic, a group exhibition organized by a consortium of Southern California MFA programs to showcases works by recent graduates. This year, CalArts MFA candidates have collectively decided to split from Supersonic and focus instead on a final project that affords ample space and time to address exhibition and performance, site-specificity and risk. The works presented in this exhibition reinvigorate the various histories of the Institute, highlighting the multiplicity of futures emerging from CalArts.
915 S. Mateo St., Los Angeles. Hours: Thurs-Sun,11 am-6 pm. Opening reception: June 2, 2-7 pm. See uber.com/forever for more exhibition info and directions.
