L.A. Louver will present the latest work of Los Angeles-based artistTony Berlant in an exhibition entitled Hidden in Plain Sight. Throughout his life, Berlant has been influenced by the rich and diverse landscape of the desert just beyond the outskirts of Los Angeles. Using this landscape as his inspirational framework, the new series of collaged works, created from his signature tin and steel brads on wood panel, convey the environment in increasingly complex and abstract form. As the exhibition title suggests, the works seem to ebb and flow between that which is made plain to the eye and that which lies beneath the surface of the scene.
