The 2nd City Council Art Gallery + Performance Space (2cc) is pleased to announce Being Gay a national juried visual arts exhibition, a second exhibition by LGBTQ teens living in foster care group homes and a special evening of GLBTQ poetry.
The Visions Voices spoken word festival presents a unique GLBTQ poetry event--More Words For Gravity--at 2cc in conjunction with the gallery's ground-breaking exhibits. Featured performances by nationally renowned performance poet Thea Iberall and two-time World Poetry Slam Champion Buddy Wakefield. The event is Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 8pm, is free and open to the public. It is presented by the Arts Council for Long Beach. Light refreshments will be served.
The FREE public artists’ reception will be held Saturday, March 14th from 7 – 9 p.m. and features Long Beach musician, singer/songwriter Angie Evans along with band members, Elliot Lawrence (bass & backup vocals); Natalie Martin (drums & backup vocals); Chi Austin (sax); and Greg Rutledge (keyboards). Light refreshments will be served.
