Renowned Los Angeles artist, Michael C. McMillen, has created a special site specific installation, Cyclops, for TAG Gallery, opening December 25; a Christmas gift to the public. Taking full advantage of the gallery's prominent windows onto Santa Monica Blvd, McMillen's piece focuses upon a series of short films projected after dark onto the vignetted window and out onto the street. An audio feed will accompany these "minute movies". From 5:30pm until midnight, passersby will be presented with an engagingly eccentric visual display.

For the installation, McMillen will utilize a trove of curiously eccentric films, recovered from a building slated for demolition. In addition to the nightly projected films, a display of artifacts taken from the original "demolition site" will be displayed in the gallery itself.

Well known for his large-scale installation pieces, some of which have featured the element of film, this current exhibition uniquely focuses upon the recently found films, and the surrounding artifacts serving as secondary, supporting elements. When asked about the source of the films, McMillen said, "I have used found and recycled materials all my life but when I opened the crate I just couldn't believe my good fortune."
