Los Angeles based artist, Mark Dean Veca is renowned for creating paintings, drawings and installations that portray surreal cartoons, psychedelic landscapes, and pop culture iconography while also being inspired by long-established decorative motifs. His work in the gallery presents a comprehensive overview of his practise.
Marc Dean Veca was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1963. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design in 1985. His work has been exhibited at PS 1 Contemporary Art Center, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
Mark Dean Veca will give a talk about his work on 26 February at 7:30 pm in Ledden Auditorium (rm 2250, Humanities & Social Science Bldg). To accommodate visitors the gallery will remain open 7:30.
