Rich is a video installation that juxtapose Ghanaian funeral music and dance with those of an African-American church service. Shin explores complex relationships in her life: she being Korean, having a partner who is African-American, both owning property in Ghana, both living in a predominantly African-American neighborhood, and the complicated relationship between African-Americans and the gold coast of Ghana which was the center of British slave trade.
