In the second half of the nineteenth century European culture transformed the role of image and word due to the invention of printmaking. By that time the industrial revolution created a consumer economy and the roll of the poster came to be to sell, persuade and market products. Mass production of these prints changed their value until later with the onset of poster collecting did a more traditional market for posters develop. This exhibit courtesy of Susan Volpe' and Assunta Fox Gallery bring you new original reproductions of Poster Art Antiquities. Printed in limited edition, signed by the artist, photographer and printmaker.
