OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, January 10th, 7-11pm
Exhibition on View: January 10th – February 7th
A new landscape… the words hold the hope of change, a fresh outlook, an improved perspective. Celebrate the start of the New Year with a renewed sense of optimism and expectation for the new landscape ahead. Renee Amitai, Peter Myerson and Susan Schiesser bring their own unique viewpoints to this distinct collection of new landscapes.
Renee Amitai graduated from the "Ecole Des Beaux Arts De Paris", France, and gained professional experience in design and architecture in Paris, France, Tel Aviv, Israel, San Antonio, Texas, and here in Los Angeles. Her art has been exhibited internationally. Her success led her back to France this
December where she was honored to show at the Grand Palais in Paris. Amitai herself has organized numerous exhibitions in Los Angles as a Chairperson
for the LA printmaking society. Her paintings are her own spiritual odyssey; a search for mystical meanings, translated by light breaking through a slit, a
scuttle, a kind of opening, a door, a window, an eye.
Peter Myerson was born in Cape Town, South Africa attending the University of Cape Town and studying Textiles in Leicester, England before emigrating
to the United States and settling in Los Angeles. In 1983, after many years of study, Myerson was able to begin painting full-time. He has enjoyed a long
and successful career showing in galleries around the world, now concentrating on shows closer to home in Solo Exhibitions in New Mexico, Santa Fe,
Sedona and here in Los Angeles. Myerson’s restless imagination has not allowed him to settle in one continuous pattern or style, but his paintings always
contain some aspect of Nature, reflecting his love of the landscape.
Susan Schiesser studied Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute as well as attending the College of Marin and Mountain College in Colorado and the
University of Hawaii. She currently works and resides in Steamboat, Colorado where she is an active force in the arts and culture scene, having owned
Studio Gallery 27 and now is an owner/artist at The Artists’ Gallery of Steamboat. She has found great success, building an impressive list of collectors in
the United States and beyond to international markets. Schiesser holds a level of visual tension in her work. It's peppered with childhood experience, day-today,
intuition, dreams, spiritual quests and natural forms. Her goal is not always the articulate visual, but to create a playground of abstraction in which to
