With the Support of the City of Los Angles, Department of Cultural Affairs, the Office of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the office of Councilmember ED Reyes, The Salvadoran American leadership & education Fund (SALEF) and the sister city commitee, this exhibit is Intended to provide insight into the lives and experiences of Salvadorans in Los Angeles. the Salvadoran Experience: "A Journey through Art" demonstrates the fusion of artists'cultural experience as both Salvadoran and angelinos.

Since The Late 1970's the Civil War in El Salvador forced thousands of peasants, workers, teachers, doctors, proffessionals, intellectuals and among them artists to disperse through the world. California , especially Los Angeles, was the main recipient of this migration, and has the largest concentartion of Salvadorans outside of San Salvador. the cities of Los Angeles and San Salvador continue to grow ties in many aspects of life such as art, culture commerce, health and public safty.
