Everyone eats. Biologically, it is necessary for sustaining life. Socially and culturally, it is a nexus of human interaction. Taken out of context, however, the act of eating becomes a physical twitch.

Around the Dinner Table functions as a reminder of our shared twitch. As an interactive installation, it allows the participant to confront her actions from a third person-ish perspective. It crystallizes individual moments of self-consciousness, exhibitionism, experimentation, and irreverence in an act that is as mundane as it is universal.

Around the Dinner Table investigates the relationship between generosity, exchange, and art in the 21st century.
