Black History Month had its beginnings in 1926 in the United States. The LOFT is proud to celebrate the innovation, art and strength of African Americans past, present and future. For the second year, we present a very special show, We Journey.
We are honored to present new art from Photographer Trellis Evans, Painter John Lee & World-Renown Metal SculpturerDan Romero.
Trellis Evans is an editorial fashion photographer working with some of Los Angeles' most beautiful talent. Last year Trellis made a trip to Ethiopia and was privileged to bring back a beautiful array of photos that warmly share the soul of those he came in contact with. Trellis will display both works side by side, exhibiting both the contrast and similarities of cultures.
John Lee, a seasoned photographer, is displaying a unique flag painting that will speaks of the pain, joy and perseverance many experience throughout the journey.
Dan Romero, world-renown Metal Sculpturer, will be presenting a collection of new sculptures entitled "Busting Thru!". A collection of rebar, doorknobs, angst and flight. Dan's work is featured through Europe (recently, he worked with various artists in Germany), as well as locally (like at the Sam Maalof Museum).
They will all be displaying BRAND NEW works, telling the story of people's journey.
Three loved artists, unveiling brand new work, all in one night.
