The AndrewShire Gallery is pleased to present perfect day, a solo exhibition by contemporary Spanish artist Eva Armisén, whose paintings, drawings, and etchings convey a carefree splendor that can only be found in the seemingly inconsequential events of everyday life.
The exhibition will consist of oil paintings, works on paper, and etchings. While their foreground imagery is almost always vividly colored, the paintings often have monochromatic or two-tone patterned backgrounds that are painted over with a wash of color to make them appear softly lit or muted. The works on paper are normally lighter and, as a general rule, more pastel in their hues and values.
Spanish artist Eva Armisén’s work speaks of the small moments in daily life. She transforms ordinary acts into the realm of the extraordinary, making us believe that each and every one of us has something to celebrate and enjoy.
In a way, Armisén encourages us to stop for a second and look around at our surroundings. We all have things to be happy about — it is only a matter of raising our consciousness of them. Armisén has exhibited her work in galleries and art fairs in Europe, America, and Asia. Her artworks have been used in advertising campaigns by Coca-Cola, Skinfood, TMT, and O’2nd. Her art has been a part of TV series and Hollywood movies such as Modern Family, I hear your voice, Parenthood, and House. Together with her husband Marc Parrot, she co-authored the children’s book “¿Qué me está pasando?” and “Todos a comer” published by Mondadori in Spain and Venezuela. Her new book, Eva Armisén,has been a bestseller in South Korea since its release in September 2012.
