The View: Works from the 1930s by Henrietta Shore and
new works by Ellen Birrell, Pearl C. Hsiung,
Tia Pulitzer, and Megan Williams
Steve Turner Contemporary is located in the mid-Wilshire gallery district directly across the street from the BCAM building of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). In its three exhibition spaces, the gallery mounts solo and group exhibitions every four weeks which feature emerging and mid-career artists, many of whom are from historically under-represented groups. Established in 1988 at a different location, the gallery began by specializing in the rediscovery of overlooked artists as well as historic photography and ephemera not typically shown in a gallery context. Steve Turner Contemporary maintains its interest in historic material and now presents it in dialogue with contemporary art.
Gallery hours are 11am to 5pm Tuesday through Saturday. Please contact the gallery for further information.
